To cap it all off, he was also an illegal immigrant who had snuck into the country three years ago. The two met in secret for a while before Cesar decided to put their relationship on pause.

He was concerned that being with an underage girl would not only get him deported but also land him in jail. So Cesar and Ilusion waited for a few months until the latter finally turned 18. It officially marked her as an adult.

Marriage.

Ilusion and Cesar Millan got back together in 1994. They could finally go out in public as Ilusion was now of legal age.

It did not take the two long to discover that Ilusion was already pregnant with their first child. The pregnancy led to an impromptu marriage.

Cesar made the arrangements, and the two walked down the aisle soon after. A year after they were married, Ilusion faced a life-threatening health complication.

It was after she realized that Cesar did not care for her as much as she thought he did. He only visited her once at the hospital for a few hours, choosing to spend most of his time at work instead.

Understandably, Ilusion was upset. After recovering, she took their son Andre and left her husband. However, after a couple of therapy sessions and reassurances on Cesar’s part, Ilusion went back home to start again.

Cesar and Ilusion Millan stayed married for 15 years, during which they not only had another child but also went into business together. Ilusion not only helped Cesar’s television show but also lent her entrepreneurial expertise in the management of his company.

Trouble in the relationship.

Cesar and Ilusion Millan’s relationship was rocky right from the get-go. They were almost divorced as soon as they were married for the first time. The two managed to work their way out of the mess through therapy.

Fifteen years on, however, and trouble reared its ugly head again. Their strife was brought on by a combination of factors. Cesar was dealing with the loss of his beloved dog and slowly sinking into a depression.

The two were also constantly bickering, indicating that they had fallen out of love with each other.

Finally Divorced.

Sometime around July 2010, Ilusion filed for a divorce from her then-husband, Cesar Millan. Sources say that the court documents she presented cited irreconcilable differences as the main reason she wanted to end their marriage.

Divorce Settlement.

In addition to granting Ilusion Millan primary custody of their children, the judge also ordered Cesar to pay her a one-time $ 400,000 settlement. Other than that, Ilusion receives a $ 30,000 a month alimony payment from Cesar Millan. The money is to ensure both Ilusion and her children’s upkeep.

The 54-year-old dog whisperer has also moved on with his life. He met fashion consultant Jahira Dar, shortly after the divorce. She helped him put his life, which was in disarray after his attempted suicide, back together.

The two started dating a short while later. A few years on, and Cesar would even pop the question again. He remains engaged to Jahira to date.
